IND v AUS 2023: WATCH – Steve Smith grabs a one-handed screamer at first slip to dismiss Hardik Pandya

Smith made a full-length dive to his right and completed the grab with one hand.

Steve Smith stunned everyone with his acrobatic grab | ScreengrabIndia and Australia are currently facing each other in the second game of the three-match ODI series in Visakhapatnam.

Asked to bat first, the hosts got off to a terrible start as they lost half their side for just 49 runs. While the Aussie bowlers were firing on all cylinders, fielders were ably supporting them.

One great piece of fielding was witnessed when stand-in skipper Steve Smith plucked a one-handed stunner to get rid of Hardik Pandya for 1.

During the 10th over of India’s innings, Sean Abbott induced a thick outside edge off Pandya’s bat and it seemed that the ball would evade the first slip fielder. However, Smith had other ideas as he made a full-length dive to his right and completed the grab with one hand.

Here’s the video:

Coming to the match, Mitchell ran through the Indian batting line-up with his ferocious spell. The left-arm pacer dismissed Shubman Gill (0), Rohit Sharma (13), Suryakumar Yadav (0), and KL Rahul (9) with the new ball.

After bowling six overs, Starc’s figures were 4 for 31 which included a maiden as well.
