India and Australia are competing in the first ODI at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, after a gruelling four-match Test series which was won by India 2-1.

Hardik Pandya, who led India in absence of Rohit Sharma, won the toss and chose to bowl first as captains usually like to do at the venue.

Travis Head departed early, but Mitchell Marsh displayed ominous form, as he smashed 81 off 65 balls to set a great platform of 129/2 for Australia in the 20th over, before falling to Ravindra Jadeja.

Thereafter, India's bowlers, especially seamers Mohammad Shami (3/17) and Mohammed Siraj (3/29) wreaked havoc as Australia were bowled out for 188 in the 36th over. Jadeja finished with two wickets in his comeback ODI, while Hardik Pandya dismissed his counterpart, Steve Smith, and Kuldeep picked up Marnus Labuschagne's wicket.

In the early stages of Australia's innings, Virat Kohli was seen performing the viral hookstep of Oscar-winning song 'Naatu, Naatu' from RRR. The blockbuster movie's official Instagram page shared a clip of the same.

India were expected to chase down the score comfortably but Mitchell Starc had other ideas as he ripped apart the top order with a triple strike - taking the wickets of Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill. Marcus Stoinis also contributed with the wickets of Ishan Kishan and Hardik, as India are 100/5 in 25 overs at this time, still needing 89 more runs to win in 150 balls.
