Virat Kohli celebrating Shubman Gill's century | TwitterVirat Kohli is someone who wears his heart on his sleeve whenever he steps foot onto the cricket field. Be it an international game or a warm-up match or he's representing his franchise, the former India skipper gives it his all for his team.

The former skipper also stands up for his teammates in tough times and always relishes their success.

On Saturday (March 11), Kohli once again gave a glimpse of it as he celebrated Shubman Gill's Test hundred from the dugout on Day 3 of the fourth Test against Australia in Ahmedabad.

After the day’s play, former India cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar said that Kohli is someone who takes pride in his teammates' performances.

"He (Kohli) was as happy (for Gill) as he would be when he gets a hundred. So, he's always there individually," Manjrekar told Star Sports.

"(He is) somebody who takes pride in someone else's performance. And when you have seniors like him in the team, it creates nice and healthy atmosphere. Must be brilliant for Shubman Gill to have a Virat Kohli in a pressure game,” he added.

Gill played a sweep shot against Todd Murphy to notch up his three-figure mark. Kohli joined the opener in the middle at the stroke of Tea and shared a laugh with him to praise the youngster.

"He (Kohli) comes in and the first thing he says is 'Well done and keep it up'. There's a lot about Virat Kohli, the character of the man. He's very happy for the success of Shubman Gill and his own success. 29 fifties from Virat Kohli's bat," remarked Manjrekar.

Coming to the match, the hosts scored 289/3 at the close of play on Day 3, trailing the visitors by 191 runs in the first innings. While Kohli stayed unbeaten on 59, Ravindra Jadeja returned with 16 not out.
