IND v AUS 2023: ‘I’m 100 percent ready to go’- Cameron Green set to play in 3rd Test in Indore

Green had missed the first two Tests due to not recovering well from his finger injury.

Cameron Green | GettyAustralia got a massive boost ahead of the third Test against India in Indore as all-rounder Cameron Green has declared himself 100% fit and ready to play in the crucial encounter as the visitors trail 0-2 in the four-Test series.

Captain Pat Cummins will also miss the third Test match as he has stayed back with his family in Australia after visiting them at the end of the second match in Delhi. Steve Smith will captain Australia in his absence.

Australia has already lost the services of Josh Hazlewood and David Warner due to injuries, while Ashton Agar has returned back home as well.

“I was so, so close last game but I think probably having an extra week has helped a lot, so I’m 100 percent ready to go. I reckon it’s just a few instances in the nets where I’d maybe go for a sweep and just jarred (the injured finger) on my bat.

IND v AUS 2023: “Don’t want him carrying the burden of captaincy for too long,” Ian Healy on Pat Cummins

I went for a sweep to a pretty new ball, just caught the very end of it, and had a bit of pain at the back of my finger, but apart from that it’s been really sweet the last two weeks, I’ve got a lot of confidence in it,” Green told reporters.

Speaking about his bowling Green said, “My bowling is actually going really well, I think we probably thought the ball on the back of the finger rolling off might be painful but that’s been completely fine. I had my first hit probably four or five days ago against the pace bowlers and felt completely fine.

Green will stay in India after the Tests as he has been named in the Australia squad for the three ODI series and also for the IPL 2023 where he was brought for INR 17.50 crores by 5-time champion Mumbai Indians.
