IND v AUS 2023: ‘India would win 10-0 if it was a 10-match series’- Harbhajan Singh takes dig at Australian team

Australia trails 2-0 in four-Test series against India.

Australia trails 2-0 in four-Test series against India.| GettyHarbhajan Singh has taken a hilarious dig at the Australian team saying that if it was a 10-match Test series then India would have won all the 10 matches, as the visitors trail 0-2 in the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 series.

Australia came into the series as the number 1 ranked Test team, and many expected them to challenge India’s supremacy in red-ball cricket at home, but that hasn’t been the case.

However, amidst the talks of spin-friendly wickets from Australian media and everything else, the Pat Cummins-led side was bundled out for 177 and 91 in Nagpur Test and lost it by an innings and 132 runs.

Then in the Delhi Test, Australia put up 263 runs batting first, but couldn’t manage to take advantage as the Indian lower order came to the rescue again and made 262 runs. Australian batting was routed on day 3 for 113 runs despite being 61/1 while resuming the play. In the end, India won the second Test by 6 wickets and retained the trophy.

Criticizing just how poor Australia has been so far, Harbhajan said that the current team looks like a shadow of its former self.

Australia practised against Ravichandran Ashwin’s duplicate, but I feel the Australian team itself is a duplicate one. Their mindset is such that they are only focusing on negative things. They created so much confusion that they lost the game even before the first ball was bowled. It doesn’t seem like they have done any preparation for this tour. Looking at their performance, I think the only thing they practised was getting out,” Harbhajan told Sports Tak.

He further commented that had the series consisted of 10 Tests, India would have won all 10 matches highlighting how poor Australia has performed so far.

I do not doubt that India will win 4-0. Even if it was a 10-match series, India would beat Australia 10-0 because this Australian team doesn’t have any firepower. If there is something on the pitch, they throw their wickets from the dressing room itself," added Harbhajan.

Australia is battling some injury woes as well as David Warner has flown back home after breaking his elbow, but will have the services of Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green for the third and fourth Tests.

The third Test will begin on March 1 in Holkar Stadium, Indore.
