Kohli came into bat on day 2 after debutant Todd Murphy dismissed R Ashwin for a well-made 23 and also got rid of Cheteshwar Pujara for just 7 runs. He managed to hold the fort until Lunch happened and looked good for his 12 runs in which he had hit two fours.

However, his knock came to an end on the first ball after lunch as he fell to Murphy, becoming his 4th wicket. Murphy bowled a rank bad ball down the leg side and Virat Kohli tried to flick it down the leg side for a couple of runs.

But he only managed to get a thin edge to it and keeper Alex Carey moved swiftly to the leg side though he fumbled that catch once, he managed to hang onto the catch and Kohli had to walk back to the pavilion with India at 151/4.

While walking back to the pavilion, Kohli looked back with a sheepish smile and then proceeded with his head down.

Meanwhile, captain Rohit Sharma continued his good form and completed his 9th Test century and first as India Test captain. He also became the first Indian to score centuries in all three international formats as captain.
