The much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy series is just a couple of days away now as the action begins in the first Test at Nagpur on February 9. India needs to win and win well to not only retain the trophy but also confirm its spot in the World Test Championship final, which is likely to be also against Australia.

Ahead of the series opener, Cricket Australia's social media team decided to refresh some old wounds with a recap of the Indian team's 36 all-out performance in the pink-ball match at Adelaide in the 2020/21 series.

India lost the Test by nine wickets under Virat Kohli's captaincy, who then flew back home to be with his wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of their first child.

Just when former Australian cricketers and media were speculating about a possible 4-0 whitewash, the Ajinkya Rahane-led side roared back in the series with a win in Melbourne, followed by a hard-fought draw in Sydney.

Batting several injuries and down to just 12 fit players to choose from, India went into the series decider at Brisbane and created history by winning the match by three wickets chasing down the 328-run target on the final day to take the series 2-1.

It's rated deservingly among the greatest comebacks and series wins of all time. Australia will now hope to end their 19-year wait for a series win in India with the four-match Test series.

Cricket Australia's social media team on Monday, posted a clip featuring all the ten Indian wickets to fall in the second innings at Adelaide, with the caption, “All out for 36. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy starts on Thursday! #INDvAUS”

Former Indian cricketer turned commentator and analyst, Aakash Chopra, cheekily responded to the bait by quoting the tweet, as he wrote, “And the series score-line? #JustAsking”
