Australia recently suffered with some of the worst bushfires in the history and there were a lot of victims of these bushfires. With the national cricket team touring India for a three-match ODI series, skipper Aaron Finch hopes to bring smiles back on the faces of those affected by the tragedy.

While talking to media in Mumbai about the bushfires, Finch said, “A lot of wildlife has unfortunately perished. All we can do is, as players, try and bring some good performances and bring some excitement and smiles on the faces of the people, who are doing it very tough at the moment.

The 33-year-old explosive opening batsman also believes that compared to the horrible tragedy happened in Australia, cricket is really insignificant.

Obviously, it's very unfortunate what's happening in Australia. With everyone affected by bushfires around Australia, at the end of the day, cricket is insignificant to what's happening there in terms of (like I said), the loss of lives,” the right-hander said.

These bushfires shocked all the world and people from all over the world are willing to help Australia.

Some of the former Australian legends even put down their only Baggy Green, the prestigious cap every Aussie cricketer cherishes for auction, in order to raise funds for the victims.

Legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne’s Baggy Green went under the hammer and was sold for about USD 700,000 on Friday (10 January).

Thus, how do the Aussies perform against the Men in Blue in the first ODI at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday (14 January) will be worth watching.
