IND v AUS 2019: Cricket Australia has fun at the expense of Shikhar Dhawan after he forgets Ashton Turner’s name

Ashton Turner made 84* in 43 balls to help Australia win and was awarded Man of the Match.

Ashton Turner | GettyThe Indian team and the fans in Mohali will never forget the name Ashton Turner, as his brilliant knock of 84* in 43 balls with six sixes and five fours, took Australia to an improbable looking win. India had set up a target of 359 runs for Australia to chase, with Shikhar Dhawan making 143 and Rohit making 95.

However, Peter Handscomb made 117 and Khawaja slammed 91, before Turner turned the game on its head, after receiving chances via dropped catches and missed stumpings. After the match, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan sat in the press conference and praised the Man of the Match Ashton Turner and credited him for the Australian win.

However, in his statement praising Turner, Dhawan bungled up and forgot Turner’s name, saying "that guy" took the game away from India in Mohali.  "He's a new player but we knew that - he already (played). Of course, 'that guy' played a really good knock and took the game away from us," Dhawan told the media in Mohali.

This led to Cricket Australia taking full advantage of Dhawan’s gaffe and one of their articles on the website had a headline that read, "Ash who? 'That guy' leaves India reeling."

Shikhar Dhawan also said that dew played a major part in India’s defeat, which was the highest chase in an ODI against India in India. Dhawan said, "But if there wasn't any dew it wouldn't be possible to play those shots. Because of the dew, those things just got away from us. Credit goes to him that he played a great knock."

About his own knock, Dhawan said, "I perform best when I am calm. There's no point in cribbing or being sad. When I feel hurt, I move on quickly. And I don't really know what people are writing. I make sure that I am in a positive frame of mind and keep doing my process.
