When you think of MS Dhoni, the batsman, most times people remember the long hits for sixes, standing and delivering blows and posing for flashbulbs. His presence of mind is still evident during his batting, similar to his time behind stumps.
He has shown that on numerous accounts while turning singles into doubles or while keeping himself from being dismissed. In the second T20I match against Australia at Bengaluru, India was looking in doldrums as they once again suffered a mini collapse after a good opening. After KL Rahul scored 47 in 26 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours; Australia pegged back with his wicket and that of Dhawan (14) and Pant (1).
But then MS Dhoni walked in to revive the innings with captain Kohli and decided to make his probably the last T20I match, a memorable one. He went after the bowlers and when Adam Zampa tried to fox Dhoni with a quick one, his fast thinking helped him.
Dhoni was looking to come forward to hit Zampa, but the leggie decided to push one through and Dhoni had to stretch his leg to keep himself from being stumped and showed that even at the age of 37, he is flexible as ever.
