Saha has been outstanding behind the stumps for India in Test match cricket.

Wriddhiman Saha, India's Test wicket-keeper, was confirmed as injured by the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) medical team and its a big worry for India ahead of Test against Afghanistan starting on June 14.

Saha, who has been India's best wicketkeeper ever since Mahendra Singh Dhoni retired from the purest format of the game and has been outstanding behind the stumps, injured his thumb recently while playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League's Qualifier 2 against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 25.

In a media release issued by the board, the acting honourary secretary, Amitabh Choudhary stated, "Mr. Wriddhiman Saha suffered an injury to his right thumb while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the VIVO IPL Qualifier 2 against Kolkata Knight Riders on 25th May 2018 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. To determine the future course of injury management, Mr Saha will see a specialist and the BCCI Medical Team will continue to monitor his progress"

India will hope that the best gloveman in the country returns as soon as possible as they need Wriddhiman Saha ahead of a long Test season away from home. His wicketkeeping has been a sight to behold for cricket lovers, with his glovework during the Test series in Srilanka last year and in the Test at Cape Town, standing out at some of the best performances on the field of Cricket.

In his absence, there is a strong likelihood of Parthiv Patel or Dinesh Karthik being chosen to do one of the toughest jobs in our game.
