ENG v PAK 2021: Ramiz Raja slams Shadab Khan after 1st ODI; wants him to have profile like Hardik Pandya

Pakistan were bowled out for 141 runs and England managed to chase it down with 9 wickets in hand.

Pakistan had a terrible first ODI against England at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff as the subcontinental side lost to an inexperienced English side that consisted of five debutants. Babar Azam and Co. have received a lot of flak from fans as well as pundits for their performance against England.

Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja in his latest YouTube video talked about all-rounder Shadab Khan who scored 30 runs off 43 deliveries as the visitors were bowled out for just 141 runs. Raja doesn’t understand his role in the team as he said that Shadab should have a profile like Hardik Pandya.

I don’t understand Shadab’s batting. What is his role when he comes out to bat? Is he a savior or a power hitter? Today he could have played easily because they had a lot of overs in the bank. But generally, his batting is going through a rusty period,Raja said in his latest YouTube video.

He should have a profile like Hardik Pandya. He is a power hitter who scores quick fifties. Shadab’s power-hitting has completely gone missing which is saddening because he is so young. This should be his peak time. In this batting lineup Shadab has more value as a power hitter,” he added.

Not only did Pakistan’s batting unit failed to get going or even occupy crease for a longer duration of period, their bowling unit was not up to the mark as well, as the pacers failed to trouble these inexperienced English batsmen while the hosts registered a comfortable 9-wicket win at Cardiff.

Nowhere did it seem like Pakistan would extend their total to at least a fighting one. There was no fighting ability.

Pakistan’s bowling has always been an advantage. The whole world agrees that it has potential. But they lost by nine wickets and applied no pressure. They kept feeding the batsmen. This is another specialty of Pakistan that they bring out of form players back in form,” the 58-year-old signed off.
