PAK v ZIM 2020: Twitterati left in splits after "Pakistani style" run-out in first ODI

The run-out involving Imam Ul Haq and Haris Sohail in Rawalpindi attracted laughs.

The run-out took place in the 26th over of the Pakistan innings | screengrab/TwitterA bizarre run-out involving Imam Ul Haq and Haris Sohail during the first ODI against Zimbabwe in Rawalpindi on Friday (October 30) left the Twitter world in splits as we once again witnessed the sight of two Pakistani batsmen left stranded at the same end.

The run-out took place on the fifth delivery of the 26th over in the first innings where after hitting the ball straight to the backward point fielder, Imam kept ball watching and was oblivious to the fact that Haris had reached his end after receiving an early hint to go for the single.

Imam was then seen diving back to the crease where Zimbabwe wicketkeeper Brendan Taylor couldn't collect the throw but the square leg fielder was alert to the situation and did dislodge the bails at the other end.

While Imam was left in despair as he had just completed his fifty (58) and was looking set for a big score, Twitterati couldn't help but laugh, as this was the latest instance of such a run-out during a Pakistan match.
