Harry Brook was batting on 19 runs from 21 balls when he attempted a big shot against Prasidh Krishna on the first delivery of the 35th over of England’s second innings in the Oval Test against India on Sunday (August 3).
The right-hander didn’t get the desired connection as the ball went straight to Mohammed Siraj, who was stationed near the boundary ropes. Siraj completed Brook’s catch quite easily, but after that he lost his balance and touched the boundary rope with the ball in his hand.
The shot, which should have sent Brook back to the pavilion, instead added six runs to his tally. After this reprieve, Krishna couldn’t believe his luck, and his shell-shocked reaction went viral on the internet.

England are chasing 374 runs to win the fifth Test against India and clinch the series with a margin of 3-1. The hosts went into lunch with 164/3 on the board, needing 210 more runs with seven wickets in hand.
In the post-lunch session, India paid the price for dropping Harry Brook as the England batter took the Indian attack to the cleaners. Brook, batting on 81*, guided the Three Lions to 239/3 after 52 overs in the company of Joe Root (52*).
