Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir urged his boys for “one final push” ahead of the fifth and final Test against England to be played at the Oval from July 31. The series stands 2-1 in favor of England, who won in Leeds and at Lord’s, while India triumphed at Edgbaston.

Team India also fought hard to secure a draw in the fourth Test in Manchester, batting out 143 overs in the second innings and scoring 425/4 after starting with a deficit of 311 runs. KL Rahul made 90, while Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar slammed hundreds.

Ahead of the fourth Test, the Indian team visited the Indian High Commission in London on Tuesday. Addressing dignitaries and staff at the event, Gambhir spoke about the deep-rooted history between India and England in cricket and the significance of performing in this part of the world.

“Touring this part of the world has always been exciting and challenging because of the history between the two countries, which can never be forgotten. We have cherished every bit of support we have received every time we have toured the UK,” Gambhir told the media as quoted by IANS.

Gambhir commended the series' competitiveness and the kind of cricket played in recent weeks.

“The last five weeks have been really exciting for both countries. I am sure that the kind of cricket that was put on display has made every cricket lover proud. Both teams threw a lot of punches and fought for every inch,” he said.

Gambhir asked his players to give it their all in the last Test match.

“We have one more week to go. One final push to make. One final opportunity to make our country proud. Jai Hind,” he concluded.  

India would even the series 2-2 if they win at the Oval, which would be a significant accomplishment for the new-look team, who are without stalwarts like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and R Ashwin.
