Team India held their nerve to secure a hard-fought draw in the fourth Test against England, which concluded in Manchester on July 27, 2025. After a shaky start on Day 4—losing two wickets in the very first over—they finished the day at 174/2.
A remarkable partnership between KL Rahul and Shubman Gill revived India's innings. Rahul scored a gritty 90 before falling to Ben Stokes, having put on 188 runs for the fourth wicket with Gill. The latter continued his dream run, registering his fourth century of the series with a composed 103, taking his tally past 700 runs.
England found a glimmer of hope when Jofra Archer removed Gill, but that was soon extinguished by Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja. The duo defied the English attack with a defiant, unbeaten 203-run stand for the fifth wicket.
Jadeja remained not out on 107 (13 fours, 1 six), while Sundar celebrated his maiden Test hundred, finishing on 101* (9 fours, 1 six), guiding India to a resolute 425/4.
Ben Stokes was named the Player of the Match for his 6 wickets and 141 runs. The series still stands 2-1 in favor of England, and the final Test will be played at the Oval from July 31 onwards.
The Indian cricket fraternity was all praises for the fight the Indian team showed and lauded Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar’s centuries as well.
