After eight years, Karun Nair finally returned to the Indian Test team in the hopes of making a splash with big runs, reliable partnerships, and a dramatic comeback. However, the actual situation was different.

Nair was left out of India's starting XI for the fourth Test at Old Trafford following poor showings in the first three Test matches. The team management replaced him with B Sai Sudharsan after Nair only scored 131 runs in six innings.

It was a poor start to Nair's comeback. He made just 20 in the second innings of the first Test match at Headingley after being out for a duck in the first. After scoring 31 and 26 in the second Test, he was kept on.

He had flashes of form in the third Test, scoring 40 runs in the first innings but only managing 14 in the second. India captain Shubman Gill decided to bench him for the fourth Test since his spot was in doubt.

The picture that is going viral on the internet is from the third India-England Test, which was played at Lord’s from June 10 to 14, and not from Manchester. In the background of the picture, one can clearly see the iconic Lord’s balcony.
