England skipper Ben Stokes took a painful blow while batting on Day 4 of the third Test against India at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.
During the 29th over of England’s second innings, pacer Mohammed Siraj hit Stokes right on the box as the ball didn't bounce as much as latter anticipated.
Stokes was in a lot of pain, and it was clearly visible from his reaction. He was lying flat on the floor, and India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja walked up to check on the English captain.
While Stokes was seen grimacing in pain, his batting partner Joe Root couldn’t control his laughter after watching the turn of events from close quarters.
After a brief halt, Ben Stokes somehow gathered himself and kept on fighting as the hosts needed him badly after losing four wickets in quick succession in the second innings.
Here’s the video:
Coming to the Lord’s Test, England lost the wickets of Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope and Harry Brook in the first session and head into Lunch with 98/4 on the board.
While Mohammed Siraj dismissed Duckett and Pope, Reddy and Akash Deep got rid of Crawley and Brook respectively.
