India skipper Shubman Gill praised Nitish Kumar Reddy in Telugu after the all-rounder's fantastic spell during the first session of the third Test against England at Lord's.

Nitish broke the game open for India with two quick wickets. He dismissed both English openers, Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley, caught behind in the 14th over and troubled other batters with his precise line and length.

The incident, involving Gill and Nitish, unfolded in the 16th over when latter was bowling to Joe Root. The England talisman decided to combat the Indian all-rounder by stepping down the wicket, only for the ball to bounce a fair bit, leaving Root in an awkward position.

After that delivery, Nitish received encouraging words from Gill. The stump mic caught the Indian captain as saying, "Bagundi ra mawa (It's good, man)".

Coming to the Lord’s Test, England reached lunch on Day 1, with a score of 83/2. Joe Root and Ollie Pope stabilized the innings after the hosts lost two wickets in the same over.

The five-match Test series currently stands level at 1-1. While England won the series opener at Headingley by five wickets, India bounced back to clinch the second Test at Edgbaston by 336 runs.
