All eyes will be on 'Comeback Man' Karun Nair as Team India gets ready to play England in a five-match test series.  After seven years, the middle-order batsman makes a comeback to the national squad after amassing a ton of runs in domestic cricket.

Nair's outstanding domestic batting performance led to his return to the Indian Test team.  Before the 2023–24 season, he made the audacious decision to relocate to Vidarbha after a challenging few years with Karnataka, where possibilities became scarce.

He amassed 690 runs in 10 games during his first season with Vidarbha. After that, he had an even better 2024–25 Ranji Trophy season, scoring 863 runs at an average of 54 in nine games.

Vidarbha won their third Ranji Trophy because of his century in the Ranji final against Kerala. His purple patch extended beyond the domestic circuit in India.

During the 2024 County Championship, Nair also made an impression by scoring 487 runs at an average of 48.70 in seven games, including a double century (202*).

These performances were enough for BCCI selectors to notice Karun Nair once more, and he has made his comeback into the India Test team and most likely will be included in the India playing XI as well.

Nair's friend and Karnataka teammate KL Rahul has a special message for him as he gets ready to solidify his spot in the test team.

"I have known him for a very long time and the months that he spent here in UK playing cricket and how hard and lonely was it for him to be able to do all of that and be able to make a comeback to the Indian team i think it is special for him and his family and friends like us who have seen his journey and hopefully his experience and learning from playing county cricket will keep him in good stead when he plays test here,” KL Rahul said in a BCCI video.
