According to reports, Team India players' and support staff's departure timetable for the Test tour of England is being finalized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This is true even though the BCCI has not yet announced the senior India squads or the India A team for the England visit.
According to Times of India sources, head coach Gautam Gambhir and the first group of Test players will depart for England on June 6. The departure of the remaining groups would depend on the players' IPL 2025 obligations.
“The players who get free from the IPL during the league stage are likely to leave with coach Gambhir on June 6. The rest will leave after a short break post the IPL 2025 commitments," said a senior BCCI official to the Times of India.
It is further understood that Gambhir will focus on the preparations of the Test squad.
The majority of India's support staff is currently out of the nation, and they could be able to connect with the team directly in England. The players and support staff will be informed of the final decision as soon as the Test team is revealed.
Starting May 25, India A squad will go for England in groups. The first group of players to board the flight will be those who are not participating in the IPL or the playoffs; the remaining players will join the team later.
Earlier this week, a squad was supposed to be revealed, but the men's senior selection committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, had to change their plans due to the altered IPL schedule.
