
England cricketers Sam Curran and Moeen Ali made remarkable improvements in the latest released ICC Test player rankings. While Curran moved up 29 places to 43rd position among batsmen after producing crucial knocks of 78 and 46 in the fourth Test against India, Moeen Ali jumped up three places to 33rd position among bowlers after claiming nine-wicket haul in the same Test match.
Curran also gained 11 places to reach 55th in the bowlers’ list and 15th position among all-rounders after moving 27 slots. Ali gained one slot to reach seventh among the all-rounders' list as well.
England’s wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has gained 15 slots to reach a career-best 32nd position in the batsmen’s list. Buttler scored a fighting 69 in England’s second innings at The Ageas Bowl. Opener Keaton Jennings is another one who improved by four places to reach 86th position in the list of batsmen.
Meanwhile, India skipper Virat Kohli has retained his numero uno status as a Test batsman with the scores of 46 and 58 in the fourth Test. Kohli, who has amassed 544 runs in his 8 innings this series, is placed at 11th position in the list of best ever batting rating with 937 points.
Similarly, Cheteshwar Pujara held on to his sixth position after scoring 132 in India’s first innings in Southampton. Pujara’s ton also lifted his rating points from 763 to 798.
