India batter Suryakumar Yadav on Wednesday (April 2) refuted reports of him moving from Mumbai to Goa ahead of the upcoming domestic season.

Taking to social media platform X, Surya categorially denied any such development as he took a media outlet and journalist to task for spreading fake news.

“Script writer hai ya journalist? Agar hasna hai toh I will stop watching comedy movies and start reading these articles. Ekdum bakwas,” he tweeted.

After Yashasvi Jaiswal's potential move to Goa for the next season, reports emerged that his Mumbai teammate Suryakumar Yadav is also looking to shift his domestic base to Goa.

Speaking to TOI, Goa Cricket Association secretary Shambha Desai, while refraining from talking names, confirmed ongoing discussions.

"We are currently in talks with many players from the country. I can't give you a name right now. We will be finalising other professional players soon," Desai said.

Desai also revealed that contact with Jaiswal had been initiated over a week ago and that things moved quickly once the left-handed opener responded positively.

"We reached out to Jaiswal some 8-10 days back, he got back to us after thinking over it and now that he has asked for a NOC, the formalities and the required paperwork will be completed," he added.

Furthermore, the report mentioned that Hyderabad's Tilak Varma has been contacted to join Goa for the upcoming domestic season.

Surya and Tilak are currently representing Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025, whole Jaiswal is playing for Rajasthan Royals in the cash-rich league.
