Kishan made 114 and 41* in the two innings of the match | XIshan Kishan played a captain’s knock as he helped Jharkhand defeat Madhya Pradesh in their first match of the ongoing Buchi Babu Tournament in Tamil Nadu. The encounter was played at the India Cements Ltd Cricket Ground, Sankar Nagar.

Madhya Pradesh won the toss and chose to bat first. Thanks to 84 by Shubham Kushwah and 57 by Arham Aquil, MP posted 225 runs in the first innings. For Jharkhand, Shubham Singh and Saurabh Shekhar took three wickets each.

In reply, Jharkhand replied with 289 runs thanks to a skipper’s knock by Ishan Kishan. Kishan playing his first red-ball game in some time, smacked 10 sixes and 5 fours in his 114-run knock. Parush Mandal picked 5/42 for Madhya Pradesh.

In the second innings, MP replied with 238 runs with Aniket Verma scoring 110 runs, while Manishi picked 3 wickets for Jharkhand.

Jharkhand set 175 runs to win the game and while they lost a few early wickets, Shikhar Mohan (38) and Ishan Kishan (41*) took them to win by 2 wickets in the end.

When Jharkhand needed 10 runs to win the match, Kishan decided to end the match quickly and hammered Akash Rajawat for two sixes in three balls of the 78th over to finish the game for his team.
