Mumbai captain and senior batter Ajinkya Rahane is currently going through probably the worst phase of his career. However, Rahane acknowledged his struggles and stressed the need to stay focused and respectful during this challenging phase.

In the recent Ranji Trophy 2024 quarterfinal match against Baroda, Mumbai's lower-order batters Tanush Kotian and Tushar Deshpande surprised everyone by scoring centuries. On the other hand, Rahane has been struggling for runs, amassing only 115 runs in six matches at an average of 12.77.

However, Rahane has been leading Mumbai brilliantly, taking the side to the semifinals of the Ranji Trophy 2024, but the skipper needs to overcome this rough patch and make his experience count, as they are up against Tamil Nadu at the MCA's Cricket Ground in BKC.

Ajinkya Rahane was quoted as saying by Times of India, “Sometimes, it’s just a phase. You have to respect that. When you’re batting well and when you’re scoring runs, again, you’re going through that phase, scoring consistently. And I think there’s nothing wrong with my batting. (I’ve to) Be positive and back my game and instinct.”

Rahane signed off by saying, “Whatever experience I have, I just have to go out there and play freely. You don’t want to go far too ahead. Even in this, I feel as a player, you have to be confident, move forward and try to learn whatever you can.”
