Hyderabad cricket president Jagan Mohan Rao Arishnapally has made the offer of a big reward to the Hyderabad players if they are able to win the Elite Ranji Trophy in the next three years.
The Tilak Varma captained Hyderabad team won the Plate Group final, defeating Meghalaya by 5 wickets in the final. Thanks to this win, Hyderabad has earned promotion to the Elite group in the Ranji Trophy.
The Hyderabad cricket chief would offer the reward to the players after this and said a BMW car and a cash prize of one crore rupees would be given to each player if they can win the Ranji title in the Elite group in the next three years.

"BMW CAR TO EACH PLAYER & 1 Cr cash Reward to Team. If the team wins the Ranji Elite Trophy in the Next 3 years," said Jagan Mohan Rao on his official X account.
Rao added that the prize was intended to motivate the players and other stakeholders. He went on to remark that he chose three years since rapid success is unrealistic.
"It (announcement) was aimed at motivating the players and other stakeholders. Achieving the target next year is realistically not possible so I gave them three seasons," said Jagan Mohan Rao to the New Indian Express.
"We had our first annual general meeting on Sunday wherein we discussed the way forward. At the moment, there is Hyderabad Cricket Academy of Excellence at the Gymkhana Grounds. I have proposed four satellite academies in four different parts of the city to make sure budding cricketers are scouted and given requisite facilities near their localities. As many as 10 districts come under HCA, so we have planned a mini stadium at each district headquarters to identify and groom talents. The iconic Moin-ud-Dowlah tournament will also be revamped,” he added.
Hyderabad last won the Ranji Trophy in the 1987-88 season.
