Agni Chopra creates world record of hitting a century in each of his first 4 FC matches; mother Anupama reacts

Agni Chopra and his mother Anupama | XAgni Chopra, son of well-known Bollywood director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, became the first ever player to score century in each of his first 4 first-class matches of debut season while playing for Mizoram in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024.

The 25-year-old recently smashed 105 and 101 in his 4th FC match against Meghalaya to create the record. His Ranji debut was equally remarkable, marked by impressive scores of 166 and 92 in the debut match versus Sikkim.

Agni carried his stellar form into the subsequent clash with Nagaland, registering 164 runs in the first innings.

He then showcased his talent in the following encounter against Arunachal Pradesh, where he amassed a commendable 114 runs. This meant that Agni has scored 767 runs from just eight innings in his ranji career.

His mother, film critic Anupama Chopra, took to X and shared a post on social media about Agni's world record with a caption reading 'Proud Mom'.

However, people have pointed out that Agni’s runs have come in the plate group of the Ranji Trophy, against arguably weaker teams.

Agni's performance has anchored the Mizoram team, showcasing his potential to score even more as the season progresses, with speculations of him crossing the 1000-run mark.
