Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan has continued his golden run with the bat showing the national selectors that they might have missed a chance here by not picking him in the Indian squad for the upcoming Australia Tests.
Khan had scored a ton against Hyderabad (126*), then made 75 and 20 against Saurashtra, and made another century against Tamil Nadu, making 162 runs.
Now in the recent most match against Delhi, which is being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Sarfaraz Khan notched up his 13th FC century. Mumbai was asked to bat first by Delhi captain Himmat Singh.
Prithvi Shaw made 40, but then Pranshu Vijayran broke through the middle order with wickets of Musheer Khan (14), Armaan Jaffer (2), and skipper Ajinkya Rahane (2), while Shaw was dismissed by Divij Mehra.
Then Sarfaraz stabilized the Mumbai innings by adding 44 runs with keeper Prasad Pawar (25) and then continued the good work with Shams Mulani. In the process, he notched up a ton with 14 fours and 2 sixes to his name, while adding more than 100 runs for the 6th wicket.
Sarfaraz celebrated his ton with gusto and some pent-up anger was released as well after he was ignored for both the Bangladesh Test series and the upcoming first two Tests against Australia at home.
He pointed towards the dressing room after completing his century and coach Amol Mazumdar made an amazing gesture by tipping his hat towards the young batter.
Mumbai were 253/5 at the time of writing this piece.
