Maharashtra’s veteran batter Kedar Jadhav was on full show in their ongoing Ranji Trophy 2022-23 match against Assam which is underway at the D Y Patil Academy, Ambi. Maharashtra captain Ankit Bawane had won the toss and chosen to bowl first.
Assam made 274 runs with Sarupam Purkayastha and Akash Sengupta making 65 runs apiece, while Ashay Palkar and Pradeep Dadhe picked three wickets each.
In reply, Maharashtra opener Siddhesh Veer made 106, but the best innings came from Kedar Jadhav, who made his comeback to the Maharashtra team after three years and slammed a brilliant 283 runs in 283 balls with 21 fours and 12 sixes to his name. Kedar completed his double century in 207 balls. He reached 250 runs in 258 balls.

He added a massive 265 runs for the third wicket with Veer and an 80-run partnership with Ashay Palkar (39). He missed his triple ton by 17 runs and had he reached the milestone, it would have been his second triple century in Ranji Trophy.
Jadhav was dismissed by Riyan Parag, who picked 4/165 as Maharashtra made 594/9 in their first innings in 147 overs till the time of writing this piece.
Notably, Kedar Jadhav last played for India in 2020, and in his international career, he played 73 ODIs, making 1389 runs with 2 centuries and 6 half-centuries. He also played 9 T20Is, scoring 122 runs with one fifty to his name.
Jadhav also last played in IPL in 2021 where he made 55 runs in 6 matches and he didn’t enter the IPL 2023 auction.
