WATCH - Yash Dhull becomes third batter to hit a century in both innings on Ranji Trophy debut

Dhull made 113 and 113* in the two innings for Delhi in his debut Ranji match against TN | TwitterDelhi debutant, India’s U19 World Cup winning-captain Yash Dhull just entered the record books, as he became only the third batter to score a century in both innings of his Ranji Trophy debut match in the ongoing tournament.

He made his Ranji Trophy debut in the Elite Group H match for Delhi vs Tamil Nadu in Guwahati and immediately announced himself with a brilliant hundred. Yash Dhull had scored 113 in the first innings.

Delhi had made 452 batting first in ACA stadium in Barsapara and in reply, Tamil Nadu slammed 494 runs with Baba Indrajith making 117 and Shahrukh Khan scoring a quick 194 in 148 balls with 10 sixes and 20 fours.

In their second innings, Dhruv Shorey made 107* with 13 fours, while Yash Dhull carried on from where he had left in the first innings, finishing with the same score as in the first do, 113* with 14 fours and 1 six to his name, as Delhi declared their second innings on 228/0.

With this, Dhull became only the third Indian batter to hit a century in each innings of his debut Ranji Trophy match. The other two to achieve this feat are Nari Contractor, who made 152 and 102* for Gujarat in 1952-53, and Virag Awate, who made 126 and 112 for Maharashtra in 2012-13.
