West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell endured the disappointment of a never seen before run out dismissal in Match 2 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2022 on Friday, January 21.

Russell, playing for Minister Group Dhaka against Khulna Tigers, was off to a positive start as he made 7 off his first two balls including a six, before getting run out off his third delivery which saw a dramatic event that doesn't happen top often. 

Thisara Perera bowled the final ball of the 15th over to Russell, as he tried to take a single towards third man. Mahmudullah, who was supposedly running towards the danger end, made it comfortably despite a direct-hit but the ball ricocheted off bizarrely towards the non-striker's end, where Russell who wasn't expecting any danger was not running too hard, and that eventually costed him his wicket as the ball hit the stumps and he was found short of his crease.

Cricket is often called a funny game, and this dismissal certainly was one that can be classified as a funny one for everyone but Andre Russell and his teammates.
