Tamil Nadu batter Shahrukh Khan on Tuesday (December 21) played a blistering knock against Karnakata in the second quarter-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021-22. He came out to bat at number seven and smashed unbeaten 79 runs off 39 deliveries as Tamil Nadu post a total of 354/8.

The Vijay Shankar-led side was 290/8 in 46 overs and Shahrukh gave them a terrific finish; adding 64 runs in the last four overs. Batting at a strike rate of 202.56, he hit 7 fours and 6 sixes in his impressive innings.

In reply, Karnataka could only manage 203 runs and got bowled out in 39 overs to lose the match by 151 runs. Tamil Nadu advanced to the semi-final which will be played on December 24.

Shahrukh's explosive batting was trending on social media as Twitterati couldn't stop praising him. They believe with IPL 2022 mega-auction coming up, we could see fierce bidding for him among the franchises.

Earlier this year, Tamil Nadu became champions of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2021-22 after beating Karnataka in the final. It was Shahrukh's last-ball six which had sealed the match for his team in a 152-run chase.
