SMAT 2021: Twitterati speculate Shahrukh’s possible arrival in CSK as franchise posts Dhoni’s picture watching him bat

Shahrukh Khan's last-ball six sealed the deal for Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 final.

Shahrukh Khan | TwitterTamil Nadu clinched the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 by beating Karnataka in the final on Monday (November 22). It was Shahrukh Khan's last-ball six which sealed the deal for Tamil Nadu at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Chasing 152 to win, Tamil Nadu needed 16 off the last over with Shahrukh (33* off 15) and Sai Kishore (6* off 3) in the middle. For Karnataka, Prateek Jain did a brilliant job to take the game to the last delivery as he conceded only one boundary in the first five balls.

But when 5 runs were needed on the last ball, Shahrukh smashed a six over deep square leg to guide his team home with four wickets in hand.

During the game, IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) shared a picture on Twitter, in which their captain MS Dhoni can be seen enjoying the last two overs of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final.

"Fini See ing off in sty7e! #SyedMushtaqAliTrophy #WhistlePodu," CSK wrote in the caption.

Moments after the post, fans started speculating whether CSK will rope in Shahrukh Khan for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Here are the reactions:

Shahrukh Khan was signed by Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the IPL 2021 auction for INR 5.25 crore. He featured in 11 games this season, scoring 153 runs at a strike rate of 134.21 with the highest score of 47.

With the mega auction due to take place ahead of the IPL 2022 season, Shahrukh is likely to attract a hefty sum if he is up for bidding.
