Shane Warne had bowled the 'Ball of the Century' to Mike Gatting in 1993.

Lancashire’s Matt Parkinson bowled a jaffa against Northamptonshire as he dismissed Adam Rossington with a beautiful leg-break. His delivery reminded the cricket fans of former Australia leg-spinner Shane Warne's 'Ball of the Century'.

Warne's delivery to get the wicket of Mike Gatting in 1993 was very similar to Parkinson's leg-break which clipped the top of the off-stump. Parkinson tossed it up and the ball drifted to land outside leg before spinning sharply and leaving the batsman shocked.

The Lancashire leggie finished the inning with figures of 3-49 as Northamptonshire were bowled out for 177 in response to Lancashire's 305 in the first innings.

Talking about the 'Ball of the Century', Warner had called his delivery a fluke. “The ball of the century was a fluke. It really was. I never did it again in the first ball of any time. So it really was a fluke and I think it was meant to be.

"As a leg-spinner, you always try to bowl a perfect leg-break every ball and I managed to do it first up which was pretty, like I said was a fluke really,” he had said.
