The final of Sheffield Shield, the domestic first-class tournament in Australia is being played between Queensland and New South Wales.

On the first day of the big finals, there have been some amazing plays that stunned everyone and showed the quality of domestic cricket in Australia.

Marnus Labuschagne who was in red hot form against India in the recently concluded Test series down under has carried his form to his tournament as the right-hand batsman scored 629 runs in 7 matches (9 innings) with an average of 69.89.

But, the 26-year-old was under the spotlight due to his fantastic fielding effort on day 1 as he took an absolute screamer to dismiss Australia teammate Josh Hazlewood.

The right-arm quick Michael Neser pitched one up to Hazlewood, which was driven firmly by the left-hand batsman but Labuschagne plucked the ball out of thin air which even left the on-air commentators in disbelief.

This amazing catch from Labuschagne also got Michael Neser his five-wicket haul as the New South Wales were bundled out for just 143 runs in their first innings. Queensland, on the other hand, lost their opener, Joe Burns, for 20 and are 58/1 at the end of days play on Day 1 with Boyce Street and Marnus Labuschagne still at the crease.
