Madhya Pradesh won the toss and opted to bowl first but the decision turned out to be disastrous as Jharkhand skipper Kishan took the attack to the cleaners.

Opening the innings, the southpaw wreaked havoc on Madhya Pradesh bowlers, slamming 173 off just 94 balls. He got to his fifty off 40 balls and notched up his fourth List A century off just 74 balls.

After reaching the century, Ishant went berserk, scoring the next 73 runs off just 20 deliveries. His knock was laced with 19 fours and 11 sixes.

In the process, Ishan Kishan added 113 runs for the second wicket with Kumar Kushagra (26) and shared a 117-run stand for the third wicket with Virat Singh (68).

Thanks to his herculean effort, Jharkhand crossed the 300-run mark inside 40 overs in the Elite Group B match of the domestic 50-over tournament. They eventually finished their innings at 422/9.

The stylish left-hander, who represents Mumbai Indians in the IPL, was also hailed by his franchise.

Taking to Twitter, MI wrote: “173 (94) 11 sixes and 19 fours. Jharkhand skipper Ishan Kishan has unleashed himself at the #VijayHazareTrophy”.
