The defending champions of BBL, Sydney Sixers are just one step away from their third Big Bash League title victory. They became the first team to qualify for the BBL 10 final, to be played on Saturday, February 6.

The Sixers might be in for some major boost to their bowling attack with a possibility of left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc playing in the final. Starc had signed up to play the final few games for the Sixers but could not participate due to a hamstring injury he picked up during Test series against India.

He had to undergo a few scans and was not able to be playing in the BBL. However, the results of those scans have not yet been evaluated and he might be in for some action wearing the Sixers colors on February 6.

Sydney Sixers head coach Greg Shipperd told cricket.com.au, "We're still trying to evaluate the final results of all those scans. There were delays around those because of the Australia Day weekend that turned into a four-day break, so that information has come a little bit later than we would have liked."

"That's a job for us in the next couple of days, is to really nut that one out and get to Mitch and see how he is and make those choices later on in the week. A bit like last year, it was an absolute bonus to the group when we had Steve Smith and Josh Hazlewood walk through the door. If that's possible we will certainly consider that strongly," he added.

The Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat will play the Challenger on Thursday, February 4 to decide the other finalist.
