Adelaide Strikers' Jake Weatherald got run-out twice on the same ball during a Big Bash League (BBL 10) match against Sydney Thunder. Weatherald was run-out while backing up and then trying to complete a run on the wicket-keeper's end.

The incident happened during the 9th over of Adelaide's innings. Batsman Phil Salt had smashed the ball down the ground off Chris Green's bowling. Green managed to touch the ball before it hit the stumps on the bowler's end.

Weatherald couldn't get his bat inside the crease on time and he was run-out. But at that moment, being unaware of run-out, he ran for a single after Salt's loud call.

Thunder's wicket-keeper Sam Billings was there to collect the ball and dislodge the bails while Weatherald once again fell short of the crease. The replay showed the Adelaide batsman has got out twice in the same ball.

"Jake Weatherald, what’s he doing!?" Brendon Julian said in the Fox Cricket commentary. "Terrible running. Weatherald’s had a couple of close shaves with the run-outs,” he added. "This time he finally gets done."

Mark Waugh said, "He wasn’t even backing up that far either, and he’s still out … I think he’s got to work on his running between wickets. Seriously, he’s got to concentrate more."

Waugh laughed after the run-out was given and continued, "I’ve never ever seen that before". "I’ve never seen anyone run out twice," Brett Lee added.
