Arjun, son of the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has made his first entry to a senior level side of the Mumbai domestic team. He and another seamer Krutik Hanagavadi were added to Mumbai's squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020-21 season on Saturday, January 10.

Mumbai's chief selector and former Indian cricketer, Salil Ankola has confirmed the news of the addition of two cricketers to the squad. The addition has come in because the BCCI had earlier asked for only 20 members in the squad and have now added two more. Thus, Tendulkar and Hanagavadi have been given a late call.

An MCA official told PTI, "Earlier the BCCI had asked to select 20 players. But later they said that 22 players can be selected in the squad, accordingly the two players were added to the squad."

"Three days back, the BCCI allowed all the teams to pick 22 players, as all the players will be a part of the bio-bubble, and even net bowlers and replacements can't be called from outside. Arjun and Hangavadi were thus added to the Mumbai squad as its 21st and 22nd members," he added.

Suryakumar Yadav will lead Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy from December 10 with all of its 5 league-stage games at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The domestic T20 tournament will kickoff with 9 matches on the opening day i.e. Sunday, January 10.
