LPL 2020: Fans go gaga over Shahid Afridi after his 20-ball half-century on debut in the league

Legendary all-rounder and former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi continues to entertain his fans with his game in franchise cricket across the world and this time, it’s the turn of Sri Lanka.

He is currently playing in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2020 in the Island nation and made a statement in his very first game in the tournament.

The 40-year-old is leading the Galle Gladiators in the inauguration edition of the LPL 2020 in Sri Lanka. In the first game of the franchise, the all-rounder hit the Jaffna Stallions' bowlers all over the ground at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.

Afridi played an aggressive and quick-fire knock of 58 runs off 23 balls for the Galle Gladiators but could not win the game for his team, as the Jaffna Stallions won the game by 8 wickets on Friday.

However, Gladiators might have suffered a massive defeat, but the swashbuckling all-rounder's tall sixes and aggressive batting gave his fans complete entertainment showing that there is still a lot of cricket left in the cricketer.

Following his impressive knock, Afridi was applauded on social media.
