England batsman James Vince recently tested positive for COVID-19, and as a result, he ruled himself out of the rearranged final stages of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to be held later this November.

Vince, who was set to play for Multan Sultans in the playoffs of PSL 2020 starting on November 14, is currently asymptomatic for the COVID-19.

The batsman tested positive for Coronavirus before taking flight for Pakistan for the PSL 5 playoffs and decided to self-isolate for 10 days from the date of the positive test and will undergo a second COVID-19 test soon.

Now, it is being reported that Vince’s England teammate Joe Denly, who played for Karachi Kings, has been named as a replacement for the latter at the Multan Sultans squad after he has himself withdrawn from the playoffs.

However, Denly’s deal also depends on the result of his own COVID-19 test, as if the Kent all-rounder comes back negative for the deadly virus, then he will head to Pakistan ahead of Multan's Qualifier against Karachi Kings on Saturday (November 14).

The Englishman, who was left out for the upcoming tour of South Africa, will then undergo two more COVID-19 tests within 48 hours of arriving in Pakistan in order to be cleared to play in the upcoming PSL 2020 matches. He turned out for Karachi Kings in 2018.

Noteworthy, the 29-year-old has represented Sultans in 13 matches in the PSL and scored 386 runs at an average of 32.16, which included two half-centuries.
