Afghanistan and Sunrisers Hyderabad spinner Rashid Khan is all set to turn up for the Adelaide Strikers for the third consecutive Big Bash League (BBL) season after re-signing with the club for the upcoming 2020-2021 season or the BBL 10.
The BBL club has confirmed the return of their public favorite Rashid for the upcoming BBL 10 on Thursday (October 22) and the Afghanistan star was delighted to return to second home again.
The 22-year-old spinner is currently in the UAE, plying his trade for SRH in the ongoing IPL 2020 and after the Indian T20 league, he will be moving from IPL 12 to BBL 10 next month.
Rashid is the third-highest wicket-taker for the Strikers with 56 from 40 BBL matches and also scored 253 runs at a strike-rate of 161.14 while becoming one of the iconic players in Australia’s T20 league.
Strikers head coach Jason Gillespie said of the latest re-signing: “Rashid has been such a quality player and person for the city of Adelaide and the Strikers from the moment he arrived.”
Gillespie added, “We’re thrilled his world-class bowling and exciting batting will continue to entertain our loyal fans, and we want to again be challenging for a second title when the tournament begins.”
Meanwhile, Rashid said on re-joining Strikers: “I'm so happy that I am able to play for the Strikers again in a big tenth season of the Big Bash, and I have loved this competition from the very beginning.”
He signed off by saying, “The Strikers have been like a family to me since I joined them, and I am so thankful to the fans who have been supporting me and made me feel like Adelaide is my home.”
Noteworthy, the BBL 2020-2021 will get underway from December 3 and Adelaide Strikers will lock horns against Melbourne Renegades in the tournament opener in Adelaide.
