Australia's swashbuckling batsman David Warner is likely to miss again the upcoming season of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2020-2021 due to the bubble fatigue in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, Cricket Australia is yet to finalize the schedule for the upcoming BBL 10, but the T20 league is likely to take place from December to February and Australia’s international stars are likely to get a 2-3 week’s window to feature in the tournament after their home series against India.
Well, most of the Australia players like Warner, Aaron Finch, Steve Smith, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Glenn Maxwell are currently playing in the ongoing 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in the UAE – which will be concluded on 10th November.
All the overseas stars including Warner haven’t brought their families with them for the IPL 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions and they would certainly like to spend time with them after the tournament as they will once again go in the bio-secure bubble for the India series and will get only a three-week window before traveling to New Zealand next year following the BBL 2020-2021.
Australian players have already arrived in the UAE directly from England where they were also in bio-bubble for the limited-overs series last month and they already have a busy schedule ahead.

Given the case, it would not be really straightforward to get them back for the BBL 10 since the COVID-19 protocols and quarantine requirements are in place due to the pandemic.
And most of the international stars are expected to give BBL 2020-2021 a miss given the amount of cricket they would’ve played by then and having spent a lot of time at the bio-secure bubble away from the family.
Well, the first name is making round to miss the BBL 10 is Warner, who is currently captaining the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2020, would certainly love to spend time with his wife Candice and his three daughters instead of moving from one bubble to another after the India series.
Warner’s manager James Erskine has revealed the destructive opener hasn’t even spoken to him yet about playing in the BBL 10 which clearly shows that he isn’t interested in playing in the league.
Erskine was quoted as saying by ‘Sydney Morning Herald’: “It’s not to do with the money, it’s to do with whether he wants to do it. I haven’t discussed it with him but I would think he’s more than likely to spend time with his family than in the BBL. The fact we haven’t had the conversation probably tells me he won’t.”
Noteworthy, it is being said that CA is exploring the possibility of relaxing the restrictions if the COVID-19 situation improves and allow the players to be with their family outside the bubble when the BBL 2020-2021 matches are in their home cities.
