They say Twenty20 cricket is for the youngsters and Pravin Tambe has proved this theory wrong time and again.
Playing for Trinbago Knight Riders, the 48-year-old on Sunday (September 6) plucked a stunning catch to dismiss St Kitts and Nevis Patriots batsman Ben Dunk.
During the 29th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020, Dunk attempted a reverse sweep off Fawad Ahmed’s bowling but he ended up top-edging the ball towards short third-man.
Tambe, who was stationed at backward point, ran to his right and eventually dived to complete the grab. In addition, the leg-spinner conceded only nine runs in four overs and dismissed Joshua Da Silva (5) to register a successful match.
Coming to the match, Knight Riders registered their 10th successive victory in the ongoing CPL as they thrashed Patriots by 9 wickets.
Asked to bowl first, TKR bowled out Patriots for a paltry in 18.2 overs with Fawad Ahmed (4/21) and Akeal Hosein (2/25) claiming six wickets between them.
In reply, Knight Riders rode on opener Tion Webster’s 33-ball 41* to overhaul the target with 51 balls to spare.
