Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) wants the retired India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh to come back and play for the state team in the upcoming domestic season. They have requested Yuvraj to come out of retirement and help the youngsters with his experience.
Yuvraj is already guiding Shubman Gill and now PCA wants him to become player-cum-mentor for the betterment of the team.

PCA Secretary Puneet Bali on Friday (August 14) said, “We requested Yuvraj five, six days ago and we are awaiting his response. It will be really good for Punjab cricket if he can play and mentor them at the same time."
Apart from Gill, Yuvraj looked after Anmolpreet Singh, Abhishek Sharma, and Harpreet Brar last month. All those youngsters from Punjab will soon fly to UAE for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.
Puneet feels the team should benefit from the experience of Yuvraj as they lost many good players in the last few years.
Since Yuvraj has featured in tournaments like the Global T20 Canada and Abu Dhabi T10 League, which needs complete retirement to get a NOC from BCCI, the return of the former India batsman will take time for sure and might be a complicated issue for the board.
On 10 June 2019, Yuvraj announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket.
