With the upcoming 2020 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) just around the corner, the CPL franchise St Lucia Zouks captain Daren Sammy has lashed out at the management for allowing some selected players to train outside the COVID-19 bio-secure bubble.
However, the hard-hitter didn’t mention any name but seemed to target at the players and staff of the Trinidad-based Trinbago Knight Riders, who were allowed to train outside the bio-secure bubble, while most of the other squads remain in the self-isolation.

Notably, Kieron Pollard, Darren Bravo, Dwayne Bravo, Lendl Simmons, and Sunil Narine are the key Knight Riders players to be seen in action in the CPL 2020 starting on August 18.
According to the CPL rules, all the tournament-bound staff and players are instructed to stay in their hotel rooms for a week, and then each member will undergo COVID-19 testing and will be allowed to train only after reporting two negative Coronavirus tests.

But rules are not the same for all – which infuriated Sammy who questioned the partial treatment of the team management through a series of posts on Twitter.
Taking to Twitter on August 11, Sammy said: “How can everybody else be in a bubble no access to training or practice games while others on the outside in a COVID infected area be training and playing practice games. Then allow to join the bubble without self-isolation.”
He further said in another tweet: “Everyone should have been in the bubble from day 1. That the only way you can guarantee everyone's health and safety is not compromised. But hey I'm no COVID expert.”
Noteworthy, the current CPL title holders Barbados Tridents have also raised questions on the Knight Riders getting an unfair advantage in terms of preparation, though, the CPL stated that St Lucia Zouks and Trinbago Knight Riders were the first two teams to be allowed to train.
