However, the team let go of its regular wicketkeeper batsman, Denesh Ramdin, who got transferred to the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Patriots, on their part, retained five players, including hard-hitting opener Evin Lewis and spin bowling all-rounder Fabien Allen from the team's 2019 squad, apart from naming pacer Ryaad Emrit as captain for the 2020 season. Emrit replaces Carlos Brathwaite at the helm after the latter's non-retention.

"I am very excited to be part of the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots for a second season," Emrit said in a media release. "I think that the team that is selected this year is going to be a very exciting one. I am very excited to be named as captain. It's always an honour and a privilege to lead a franchise."

"Our new coach, Simon Helmot, knows the CPL and he knows how to win titles. He and I are going to work very hard to get the team to the finals," added the new skipper, with the team also bringing in new coach Helmot as replacement of Robin Singh.

SNP signings: Evin Lewis (retained), Fabian Allen (retained), Sheldon Cottrell (retained), Denesh Ramdin (transferred), Rayad Emrit (retained), Alzarri Joseph (retained), Dominic Drakes (emerging player signed)

Venky Mysore, the TKR director, was pretty pleased by all of the team's retentions and new signings ahead of the coming season.

"Over the last 5 years, TKR has built the franchise by consciously bringing back players from Trinidad & Tobago and also developing local talent," he said. "We are delighted that all ten of our Caribbean players in the TKR squad for 2020 are from Trinidad & Tobago."

TKR signings: Dwayne Bravo (retained), Kieron Pollard (retained), Sunil Narine (retained), Darren Bravo (retained), Lendl Simmons (retained), Khary Pierre (retained), Jayden Seales (emerging player signed), Amir Jangoo (emerging player signed), Tion Webster (retained), Akeal Hosein (retained)

CPL franchises were allowed to retain as many players as they wished to ahead of the league's latest edition. They could also transfer players to other teams and sign emerging players.

The new overseas signings and retentions will be announced at a later date.

CPL 2020 is due to be played from August 19 till September 29, which might change because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
