Cheteshwar Pujara joined his Ranji side Saurashtra for the final against Bengal went down with throat infection and fever. As Saurashtra took on Bengal in the final of this ongoing Ranji Trophy season, Pujara came out to bat but could not bat for long.

After Saurashtra lost their first wicket in the form of Harvik Desai, there was a loud cheer from the spectators as they thought the star batsman will come out to bat. But the new batsman that walked out to bat was Vishvaraj Jadeja.

The 32-year-old right-hand batsman kept pushing himself down the order but Sheldon Jackson's early dismissal brought him out in the middle but he did not last long as he faced 24 balls for 5 runs before retiring hurt.

He has a throat infection. He was also running mild fever and that's why he wasn't coming out to bat earlier," Saurashtra captain Jaydev Unadkat confirmed.

Even though Pujara went home which is roughly 6 kms away from the stadium, Unadkat is confident that the Indian Test specialist batsman will bat on day 2.
