Sixers are peaking at the right time, winning their last five matches including the Qualifier final against Stars last week.
On the other hand, Stars – the table-toppers in the league stage – ended their four-game losing streak by defeating Sydney Thunder in the Challenger final on Thursday (February 6).
Torrential weather is expected to hit NSW on Saturday and if the BBL final gets rained out then Sixers will be crowned champions as they have earned the hosting rights by winning the Qualifier final.
Under the BBL regulations for 2019-20, law 16.10.2.7 states: "If there is a tie (with no 'Super Over' possible), No Result or an Abandoned match in the "Grand Final" then the home team shall be declared the winner of the "Grand Final" and BBL Champions."
Moreover, Sixers also hold the upper hand in head-to-head matches in BBL 09, with two wins out of three games against Stars.
