Australian fast bowler James Pattinson has managed an amazing catch standing in his dugout during a Big Bash League (BBL) 2019-20 match between Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat at Docklands Stadium in Melbourne on Monday (January 27).

The incident took place during the 17th over of the Heat’s innings when Matt Renshaw hit the ball for a big six over deep mid-wicket off Cameron Boyce and it went to the dugout.

Pattinson was fully kit-up with his pads and gloves on in the dugout waiting for batting in the match, though he managed to grab eyeballs even before batting for the Heat by taking an incredible ‘crowd catch’ of his teammate Renshaw in the dugout.

Well, Renshaw’s wicket was not valid given the fact taken by his teammate and he went on to play an amazing knock of 65 runs off 47 balls with three boundaries and four sixes but Pattinson received applauds from his teammates and fans for the same in the dugout.

Impressing with the bowler’s efforts, the BBL official page has shared the video on Twitter with a caption: “James Pattinson taking crowd catches with his batting gloves on! Amazing! A @KFCAustralia Bucket Moment | #BBL09”

However, Renshaw’s brilliant show could not make up the Heat’s poor top-order show and eventually, they lost the match to Melbourne Renegades by 7 wickets.
